About
Three family photos and three acrylic paintings from undergrad.
Hi! I’m Jeannine,
I’ve always identified in my heart as a creative. I’ve been a Maker since Legos, Lincoln Logs, and 4-H.
Here are some facts about me:
I'm a Morning Lark. Most days, I wake at 4 am, giving me 2 uninterrupted hours to fill my creative cup in the quiet predawn hours before the family wakes.
I am a multi-passionate maker. Which means My ADHD will send me in new directions and I love deep diving into new ideas and learning new skills.
My favorite art mediums are digital, paint, clay, fibers (fabric, thread, dried plants), and word.
I was a foster mom for many years before meeting our forever children. As the mother of a transracial family, I feel passionate about telling our story and depicting characters that my children can identify with and feel empowered by.
In 2021, my partner and I moved to Panama City, Florida, from Fairbanks, Alaska, and then in 2025 we moved again to the Space Coast of Florida. We love the beach but miss the snow. Side fact: I went to Alaska on vacation in 2001 and stayed for 20 years.
We have two dogs; they are spoiled elderly aunties who lie at my feet while I make, and they monitor the children’s every move in search of crumbs & jam.
In my search for the right career I’ve worked all things food industry including owning a food truck and a summer gig cooking for wild land firefighters; I was also a web designer, a school behaviorist facilitating restorative justice programming, an advocate at a women’s shelter, and currently I work as a practitioner of the healing arts.
I love gardening and have enjoyed learning about the tropical plants I can grow in Florida. Our Banana trees inspired me to briefly take on basket weaving a few winters ago.
I love to draw Flora and Fauna; flowers, house plants, children, and woodland creatures. Also love creating strange landscapes not based on nature.
Making is my favorite coping skills and how I tune out the noise and let go of the stress of modern living.
In dressing my littles I often thrift and up cycle clothes, sew unique outfits, and craft little accessories. For fun I took a procreate surface Pattern Design course a year ago and I realized I could use those designs to create clothes and fabric for our own home and if I’m making it for us I might as well open a little online shop and sell to others looking for unique ideas!
